We were staying on the High Hall Farm campsite and wanted to sample some local food and atmosphere. We decide to go to the Blue Bell Inn. Food was fantastic and we loved the portions sizes. Proper home made food, delicious. We also enjoyed a game of pool which we thoroughly enjoyed.
A wonderful little country pub that really fits into the idyllic surroundings of the small cumbrian hamlet of Newbiggin. The pub is a small place but this only brings you in closer to country-like feel of the place. The pub itself boasts a pool table and its own dart team. Come for the chips alone!!Off the beaten track, small, local pub with a very warm welcome, some great local beers and outstanding food. The standard of cooking was excellent and the portion sizes were very generous. Everything was very tasty, with really nice quality ingredients, but the star of the show were the chips... exactly like your mum used to make. Highly recommended if you're in the area. You can book ahead to avoid disappointment.
