my wife didnt see the step at entrance of hotel.The step didnt have yellow and black shevrons , otherwise many other people are going to have the same accident as my wife PATRICIA.the hotel should have a sign saying mind the step .MY wife wouldnt want to conplain because the county is a lovely hotel .But falling at the entrance is a problem for the county hotel.
Stayed in room 222 for one night. Nicely refurbished room occupying the whole corner of the building. However, the room is directly above a pub. The noise from this pub doesn't cease until 2am. Impossible to sleep, extremely loud. This room should not be let out to human beings. Shame as the breakfast was perfectly acceptable. Hotel old and tired, right next to the rail station, convenient but city centre....and the noise that goes with it sadly.

Staff were welcoming, especially Nico, the rooms were good and the bed was comfy, used the hotel as a base while we looked about Carlisle and surrounding areas. Some recommended restaurants: Siam Thai Restaurant (5 minute walk from hotel) Shanghai Shanghai (same street as the hotel) Royal Outpost Thai & Asian Restaurant (2 minute walk from hotel)
