Traditional pub, with a lot of nice original features, timber panelling, stained glass, with older photos of the city above the bar.Next door to the cathedral and across from the castle. Recommend for a quiet relaxing drink.
This Pub is definitely of the main circuit due to its location but very much a quality bar with well kept ales and friendly service. Spotlessly clean and nice clientele with a good atmosphere. Would certainly visit again when next in Carlisle.

Lovely proper pub, music just the right level, beer good and the place nipping clean. Owner a lovely man I don't understand why it was so empty on a Friday night unless we missed the rush.
