My buddy, Steve and I from the US, were on our Hadrian Wall walk. It was lunch time when we ran into this amazing pub. We were early, so the host gave us a cool tour of the establishment while talking about its history. Stops as this added to the enrichment of our trek which we successfully completed.
Fantastic stop over on our way to Scotland. We spent a lovely evening in the bar. The hosts and locals were very welcoming. The Beef bourguignon was delicious as was the Stag pie. Well worth a visit.
Its open?? Good landlord and landlady too! Very welcoming and do famous food.
