It was fantastic to return to this legendary pub (now staying in a motorhome), nestled between the slopes of Whernside and Ingleborough. Now much quieter than in its former glory (though it is only January), it has lost none of its character and charm. We stayed here for two nights in November. Our second stay here. Bean the owner is brilliant, she provides a comfortable, clean, homely place to stay. The pub is old, welcoming and full of charm. Always a roaring fire to warm you up after a day out walking. Being central to the Yorkshire 3 peaks it really is an ideal location for walkers or couples wanting to get away from it all. Lovely traditional pub quite but seems like a good place to get around for a meal & a few drinks while walking in the area, will stay one day, as its very near to many walkable mountains & veiw points.Its in a good positionNearby activities: Complex of camping & barns with facilities to use in immediate areaWalkability: Good for Three peaks & other large hillsFood & drinks: Beer very good ?
