Best café in the World especially if you are looking for gluten free options
Always pop in here when in Grasmere for lovely traditional tea and lunch. The rarebit and the soups are both AMAZING. It's soup of the day so changes but cauliflower cheese soup, spiced parsnip or garlic and mushroom are the best I've tried (especially with a bacon and brie roll!).
I ordered blueberry scones amd sticky gingerbread. Blueberry scones are a must try !!!
Scone with jam and better is delicious
The service is ok
But once i asked for check she asked to pay in cashier with us only :(
Quaint tearoom with history. The decor is classic English tearoom, featuring china cups and saucers on the walls and shelves, exposed wooden floor and glass chandeliers. As a history lover, I adored the information card on the table telling you about the history of the building and who the Baldrys were. Lovely to think I was sitting in the same spot where a family once thrived in the 1800s.
I ordered rarebit with poached eggs, bacon and mushrooms. It was absolutely delicious, however the wait time for the food was quite long. It took 35 minutes from placing our order for the food to arrive. The staff were very polite and seated us right away, though could have checked in with us to provide an update or let us know the approximate wait time for orders if the kitchen was busy. It was a shame that we had to rush off once finished as our parking had expired. This is the reason for deducting 1 star.
Baldry’s is the only reason I visit Grasmere. It’s their tea and cheese scone that wins me over, every time. They do other stuff, but I’m not interested in it.
So so lovely. Staff were attentive and amazing and we had the most delicious scone. Loved the old-fashioned China tea cups. Wish I’d ordered even more cake. Such a treat.
Lovely friendly staff and the best coffee we’ve had in the UK. The menu and cake selection was great too!
Exceptionally good food and service. Happy to serve at your table and do their best to make your meal the best. You may have to queue, but it is worth the wait.
Lovely spot for a Coffee and cake, very friendly and good service

A great cafe with good range of food for both normal or gluten free
The tea was delicious, although I ordered the Baldry stack and it was dry as sand.
Scones were more like muffins or bread rolls. I assume the butter got melted and fully incorporated in the dough. I mean it's an alright taste, but definitely cannot be called a scone
❤️??
Real tea (I.e leaves not teabags) tasted great. My sausage and mushroom roll was also delicious, and it makes a nice change to have the large, flat field mushrooms which I think are much tastier than the button ones
This is true bit of heaven on earth, quintessential English. Cannot wait to return on my next Lakes visit.
