Pubs in Keswick

“Popped in whilst en route to Keswick, just off the A66. Both the steak pie and the fish and chips were very tasty, and so was the ale. Worth a visit, it's only about 10 mins further than the end of the Keswick railway path which is a lovely walk and would be made better with a visit to this pub. Recommended ??Food & drinks: Well kept ales and hearty portions of tasty food.”

“Great food, as usual. We had a table of 6 and no-one had a bad dish. Only disappointed that white bait is no longer on the menu ? Always go when in Keswick and will continue to go.”

“Excellent pub on the high street.Great selection of Cask Ales, lagers, ciders & other alcoholic drinks.Service was excellent & the lady in charge ran the place like an army major (compliment). She knew which table number people were sat at & ran the evening like a military operation.Food was top class & very reasonably priced.Fully recommend this place.Kid-friendliness: Children welcome until 8pm”

“We ate here both nights of our recent Lakes stay, as it was v local to where we were staying. Managed to get a table outside on both nights. With the good weather, pub was busy but made welcome, good service and nice pub food. Beer garden has nice views, would return.”

“It's not a very big pub, but it's popular (with good reason), so it can be difficult to find a table. It's worth the wait if you have the time. The service was quick, and the staff were courteous and kept checking to make sure all our meals arrived. I had the standard sized Hungarian Goulash, which was delicious (the only criticism being that it could have done with having 2 dumplings instead of 1). My wife enjoyed her veggie goulash, with the kids giving a thumbs up for their Mac n cheese and pizza. There's a good selection of drinks, particularly if you like cask ales (which I do).Vegetarian options: There is a veggie version of the Hungarian GoulashKid-friendliness: Kids are welcome, but bear in mind it is a traditional pub and it is quite small. You're not going to get a pram or pushchair inside. Maybe not the place for you if you have very young children.”

“The Twa Dogs has vastly improved its food. Chef quality at pub prices. Ignore all the earlier reviews which relate to previous organisation. Recommended as an alternative to central Keswick restaurants. Can't comment on accommodation as just came with large group for pre Xmas food”

“We came here for some lunch and this place really is hidden! The food was really nice, they offer a range of different options and the portions sizes were good. The atmosphere is nice and cosy. Overall I’d come back!”
