We stopped off for breakfast whilst doing the walk around Derwentwater. The breakfasts were ok and the cafe clean, what let the visit down was the lack of customer service and social skills of the staff. On the morning we visited they cannot have been the same friendly crew mentioned in some reviews, there was no welcome, no smile no banter just a miserable attitude. It’s a shame as the cafe is in an excellent spot for walkers, next time we will be walking on to the Lingholme Cafe, where a warm welcome is given by staff with social skills.

Been here once before after doing Cat Bells and made a wet trip across from Keswick centre to here to try the Avocado toast again. Didn’t disappoint at all and my partners choice looked lovely too. Lovely, warm and airy inside, all staff were attentive and the lady who is mentioned with the colourful hair was lovely and I could hear her chatting away to a visitor so was surprised to see some reviews here saying the opposite. Happy customer here and look forward to a return again!

Fantastic spot for brunch, especially on a wet and windy day like today! The Tiroler Grostl was absolutely fantastic, and my wife said the smashed avocado with poached eggs and bacon was great - especially with the accompanying red pepper salsa. Friendly staff and nicely decorated ready for Christmas.

After a walk around the lake , we stopped off for lunch on route. Staff were lovely, helpful, and friendly. We had the spaghetti carbonara, delicious, freshly cooked, authentic, very impressed. So good, we had to try their equally yummy puds, we were not disappointed , we will back to sample more ?

Lovely spot after a hike up Catbells. Had a lovely fruit scone and coffee. People and dog friendly. Treats and water bowls available, and towels if needed. Well worth a visit to recharge after that hike!

Really great spot for a bite to eat after hiking in the area. Large cafe/restaurant with outdoor seating. Sandwiches, soup, jacket potatoes, pizzas and more. Also cakes and scones. The service was great and the food was wholesome and tasty. Highly recommend.

Lovely staff, and the food was really nice. It was a welcome place after a fun morning at Threlkeld Quarry and Mines Museum.

Me and my partner were staying just over the road from this lovely eating place. We had lunch which was delicious and so decided to have breakfast the following morning. Again a wonderful full English breakfast cooked to perfection. The place was spotlessly clean which is something i don’t see often now in most eating places. The babies high chairs were lovely and clean too which was nice to see for a change. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. I would advise anyone staying in Derwentwater to visit this lovely establishment for a bite to eat and drink.
