Very special to be introduced to the Yoga group here - by chance over Friday coffee meet. So welcoming and life-affirming to meet Zoe. Stocked up on local cheese to take home. Highly recommended on all the levels, thank you ??

Best bacon roll and coffee. Good job we do not live close by or we would come every day. Great service and ambience. Well worth a diversion to visit.

Just back from another hols in Barbon. The Churchmouse, by coincidence our fave breakfast bacon butty place had a Friday Italian night & we had a fab meal with hosts Jules & John, who looked after us royally. For £30 per head we had 4 courses of beautifully cooked & presented Italian fare (I’ve included a photo of the menu) together with excellent regional Italian wines. They transformed their cafe which is designed for walker, dog walker passing traffic into a moody intimate setting. Well done to them. They made our week as this is something they do only now & then. Oh & the bacon butties are to die for if your passing !!

As a daytime café this is super for light lunches, and coffee and cake, but we attended one of their occasional Bistro Nights. Jules Natlacen, chef and joint patron, excelled with her imaginative menu. Husband John, joint patron, delivered bonhomie and a wide choice of wines at front of house, ably assisted by the glamourous Katie, stylishly dressed for the occasion. The imaginative menu was Chicken liver pate or Filo parcels, followed by Moroccan lamb tagine or Three cheese risotto. To conclude we had Eton mess with tons of strawberries or a generous Cheese board. Top quality coffee concluded the meal. The bonus was the entertainment by vocalist Rob Bee on key board and saxophone. A mixture of pieces, known and less known, climaxed with the whole place, including those of a mature vintage, singing "Come on Baby Light My Fire." It was a wonderful evening.

Was a fantastic experience never been before but we'll be going back

A little bit disappointed with the ambiance, not really what I expected, and the quality of the food wasn’t brilliant. Had the bacon bap but the bacon, though cooked very nicely, was a bit underwhelming (not very tasty) The service was excellent though. Not sure we would rush back.

The food was delicious - never had a triple decker toastie before! And we love the cheese. Bought some Norwegian caramelized goats cheese to bring home!

A small party of 3 we were the first customers, only wanting coffee a tea cake, a scone and toast. The coffees came quickly and met our expectations but the food all arrived separately over a period of time when the coffees had gone luke warm. This happened because 4 other customers came in and were given priority over completing our order.

A lovely little community shop and cafe. I was visiting Barbon on a photographic project on a wet day. We popped into The Churhmouse just for coffee really but decided to try the cakes. The welcome was warm and friendly and the coffee and cake excellent. I was sorely tempted by the homemade but as it was only about 10:45 it was too early. The shop seems to mainly sell cheese, crackers/biscuits. wine, teas and jams and a few other items. The toilet is small, clean and quirky but outside round the back. Not really a problem but as it was so wet they let me go through the back door so I didn't get too wet. I would highly recommend this place and will be back. The lunches look delicious and would like to try the soups sometime. A great place to stop for walkers.
