Had a lovely meal on a Sunday evening. Good to see a party of young people in celebrating a birthday and several other tables full. I had a mixed starter and a lamb rogan. I’m gluten free and the waiter was concerned that there was a samosa in the starter! I swapped it for an onion bargee so no problem. An excellent meal all round.
We ate at the Mango Tree on our one night in Kirkby Stephen on the Coast to Coast walk. One of our group really wanted to switch up dining from the pub meals that we had been eating. Indian food was a terrific change. The menu is extensive but the server was excellent at giving us guidance on selecting the best dishes for our tastes. The portions were generous. Really had a great evening. Food well presented and very tasty. Lots of choices on the menu. Reasonable prices. Proprietor was aware of food sensitivity and advised on ingredients. Have been once before a few years ago but would definitely return if I was in the area. Could recommend the merlot wine.
