We enjoyed our visit to Kirkby Stephen- complimented by a very enjoyable evening at The Taggy Man, participating in their Tuesday night quiz. Very much enjoyed- thank you for making us “tourists” feel welcome! Great selection of local ales.
This was a nice little pub in the middle of town. The main focus for food is on pies with a few other items like scampi and burgers. The pies are absolutely delicious with very light pastry encasing a variety of fillings. The toilets are fairly basic and both times we called the place was very quiet. Staff are extremely friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you like pies and good beer.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pie available

A lovely, welcoming and very dog friendly pub.. very quirky and cosy. We visited here because we loved the name and quirky building. Staff are friendly, we didn't eat here but drinks were of great quality. Drink and treats for doggies. In the middle of the town, lovely location! Highly recommend!!!
