Fantastic food and local ales in a great setting - this is clearly a local village pub as well as an excellent restaurant. The menu changes daily, we had confit duck and ox tongue with a side of gratin dauphinoise, followed by crème brulee. All delicious, well crafted dishes. Worth travelling many miles for - if only every restaurant could be like this!

As a local lad who headed south to earn some coin, coming back to the Eden Valley is always a pleasure. So it’s great to find the White Horse Inn still serving the locals (hello Henry!) but also serving food that transcends the usual pub grub but without going for style of substance. A small but perfectly formed menu serving local seasonal produce hit the spot. Can’t wait to return. Thanks Demi and Tom for a very memorable lunch ?

Delicious, imaginative vegetarian choices on the menu. I had a damson negroni to start, which was delicious too. Finished with the ginger sponge pudding with treacle sauce and chantilly (and a glass of dessert wine), couldn’t finish it but my gallant husband stepped in! We stayed over in a lovely bedroom, very comfortable bed and great shower room. Looking for an excuse to come back !!

Exactly what we hoped it would be for a treat night away. Excellent vegetarian food (if you contact them in advance, Demi will ensure the menu will be to your liking), superb atmosphere, great drinks, friendly service and a beautifully appointed to room to sleep it all off in. We'll be back!
Nice atmosphere, very good food ,I would say an upmarket menu but from what we ate for our evening dinner it was good quality and well presented and prepared, good service ,parking outside the door ,beer garden at the side for summer. £100 for dinner and drinks for 4 people .

We went for Sunday lunch (there were 8 of us) and the beef, pork and plaice were ordered. There were 8 clean plates collected from our table. Most of us had sticky toffee pudding for afters. Absolutely delicious food and we will be back.
