One of the best pubs in the Lake District! As you come off the A66 you really feel like you are entering the late district yet conveniently very close to Penrith.It has a fantastic atmosphere of a country pub with the fire almost always going, it has certainly provided great respite in the winter months when I might have been less prepared for the cold weather.Just visited again more recently in March and the food was delicious. I cannot recommend this small North Lakes pub enough. Five craft ales on tap, very tasty food and wonderful service. When we went it was full to the gills (which is a testament to how good it is), so if you want to go, book ahead!Parking: Being a small country pub situated down a small country lane, there is no car park and limited on-street parking.

Outstanding for food and drinks. Beautiful restaurant which was a surprise when we walked in. Lovely outdoor area to enjoy in better weather.The food is amazing. Great menu and specials board. Service was warm and friendly. Total hidden gem. Flat Iron steak and the burger were particularly good!
