“Francine’s was recommended by our host, and we were really excited to try it. It lived up to our expectations and they are indeed the best restaurant in Windermere.The food portions were big! Creme brûlée was awesome, as read from the other reviews. PS: Francine makes the chocolate desserts ?”

“Just stopped here for a quick coffee while we waited for the cruise back to Ambleside and have to say the gentleman behind the counter was an absolute gem of a human being! His customer service was second to none, above and beyond. My 2yo daughter wanted some ice cream and he said she could come behind the counter to pick which ice cream she wanted and then he didn't even charge us for it. He was so lovely and and a real breath of fresh air! Brought a smile to all of our faces. Thank you so much!”

“Food was great. But service was not up to the mark. We had to remind them about our order couple of times and still our order had missing items which in the end we cancelled it because everyone was finished with their breakfast.”

“Lovely little champagne cafe bar in the middle of town. We had drinks in the evening which we thought were a little expensive hence the 4* review. We also had afternoon tea here courtesy of our hotel and it was excellent. Much more food than we could eat and the staff boxed up the cakes for us to take away. They also very kindly kept them for us for a couple of hours until we were ready to go back to our hotel. Overall we really liked the fizzy tarte and will go back next time we are in Windermere.”
