Love the Queens Head. Always a favorite pub, finally got to stay and wished only I could have stayed longer. Very comfortable and love the views.Rooms: Very attractive rooms, comfortable and quiet. Could have sat and just looked out the window all day.

This place was so good from the offset.A warm greeting and friendly introduction to the room.Goodies left in the room including complimentary flapjacks, hot chocolate, a beer, dog treats and a tennis ball as well booked a dog friendly room.I have absolutely nothing to complain about, the room was lovely, the shower/bath was hot and the bed comfy.A really enjoyable stay, we wished we were staying longer but we will definitely be coming back.

Service was good but unfortunately the Cajun chicken salad was disappointing & not good value for money l. Also, 'Cumberland' sausages were ok but certainly not the award winning kind.

This is a very cosy, comfortable pub with good service. It is dog friendly. I would also describe it as family-friendly, except the children's menu was very expensive (£9.50 for 2 small sausages, mash and peas). This is probably the most I've ever had to pay for a main meal out for my 2 year old so would have expected something exceptional. The rest of the food was tasty but let down by the veg which looked and tasted as though it had been frozen and was still a bit hard. For £16.50 for a main l would expect better quality vegetables. There was also no fish and chips available at Saturday lunch time and no scampi on the menu at all. The toilets were very clean and smelled lovely. Overall a good experience but could be much better with a few quality improvements.

We stayed for three nights at the Queens Head in Troutbeck, we had a meal on the first night and the food was lovey and then Sunday lunch on the Sunday, as this is the only place my daughter will go to for Sunday lunch and the food was lovey as always and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Love staying there as Sam and Mark have a good team of staff helping them in running of a lovey place .Rooms: Stayed In Great End room and it was lovey and the view of the fells over Troutbeck was lovey to wake up too .Food & drinks: The food was lovey every meal we had and Sunday lunch is the best in the area and there is a wide range of drinks to choose from.

This is going to be a long-winded review, so I'm sorry in advance.I came to the lake district for the 1st time ever in 28 years, and I heard fantastic things about this hotel from a work colleague that comes to this hotel often so I thought I'd try it out as I wanted to do something special for my mom's birthday and mother's day, we wasn't disappointed and it was the best place we could've gone to. After a long train journey from north Wales and we got there for around 5.30pm ish and we was warmly greeted by the manager andras and he was very polite and shown us to our rooms and all throughout our stay he was very accommodating, George was very keen and willing to help however he could and his eagerness to work is impeccable, Scott was always happy and smiley and he seems to always be in a happy mood and it's good when people are like that because it makes people feel welcome and wanting to come back. We met the owners Sam and Mark and they was helpful and very friendly and nothing wasn't too much on things. The food throughout our stay was absolutely divine especially those smoked haddock and mozzarella cheese fishcakes they was absolutely delicious and the pie and chips was sensational on the taste buds, I don't usually have Sunday dinners but i had their lamb dinner and it was beautifully cooked and presented. I will definitely be back at some point.
