We cannot thank Merewood Country House Hotel enough for our fabulous wedding and two day stay; it was absolutely amazing! From arriving to when we left was just perfect. The location was superb, the views were spectacular, the food was divine, but what made our wedding so so special were the staff! A lovely hotel. Although we were just visiting for a two day break in winter, I can imagine a great wedding venue with lovely views all around. Our room was fine, but would have preferred one with a better view.Rooms: The bed was king size and the room and en suite nice, but the view from our bedroom not very romantic.Food & drinks: Breakfast great, evening g meal also nice.
Lives up to its name. A lovely country house, close to Ambleside and only a couple of hundred metres away from lake Windermere.The building is beautiful, and the service is top notch. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed for the Gala New Years disco and it was an absolute blast.The room was a little small, with dated decor and a lack of storage. But you go to the Lakes to be exploring the Lakes, so this wasn't a problem.
