Love this hotel. Characterful, comfortable with charming staff. Great location & very reasonably priced comfortable room.Wi-Fi & parking charged separately, you only pay for what you use, keeps room price down.Rooms: Comfortable & clean. Plenty of tea, coffee etc supplied at reception.Walkability: Very easy walk into Buxton town.Food & drinks: Good selection of wines by the glass & bar food very good.Noteworthy details: Charming helpful staff, especially Jade in bar and Ewan Duty Manager.

Loved our room, so huge! Was great to have the pool and spa access too, even if it was a bit small. The food service on the evening was very slow buy it seemed like they were very understaffed. Only issue is that I can never get hold of them when I phone them, which is very frustrating as its a premium number. I lost my anklet there and they said they'd phone back but never did. And this was over a month ago!

Great location and friendly staff. However our Room was small, no heated towel rail, no working opening windows, was overseeing the rubbish yard and laundry room so was noisy.Breakfast was very basic with no hash browns, so my vegan wife had very limited choice.

Lovely place for a weekend visit to Buxton. Overlooking the town and easy to get to, there was plenty of parking, although we had to pay an extra tenner to park for two night.Short wait at reception but very quick to process. Access to the lift was easy and in to the room. Key card access, simple. The rooms were clean and tidy, no clutter or unnecessary furnishings. Access to TV, kettle and tea facilities. The hotel was a beautiful historic space to look around and everything seemed inkeeping to the period it was built. The food was fine, although the buffet could have had a couple of extra options.Stay away from the coffee, it was like syrup but you could get a decent brew in one of the many coffee shops in town. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.Would stay again, thanks for a lovely weekend.Rooms: Nice and clean, spacious.

Shabby run down hotel, the facilities are very dated, the staff are not accommodating or particularly helpful. The food is average at best, the bar is small and has a limited selection. Worst of all was woken repeatedly through the night by people shouting, arguing or talking loudly outside.Given the price of the rooms I expected more, can't say this is value for money and they charge extra for just about everything including parking!

Absolutely fantastic place...decor was wonderful and just to my taste. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Lorraine at the bar was amazing. Prices were really reasonable...and you pay for quality. And Susan the manager treated us like celebrities. Resturant staff were all very pleasant and we met some wonderful people. Cant wait to stay again soon. Thank you so much for an amazing stay love Di

We've stayed here a few times now. Lovely place, Great atmosphere in the evening, Rooms are nice and have everything expected. Kudos to the Piano player. Really nice guy. Breakfast can be a little chaotic but everything you could possibly want is on the buffets. Close to good restaurants and a fantastic micro brewery.

Amazing deal and beautiful hotel!!My daughter & I stayed overnight at the hotel and had a wonderful time. The hotel itself is elegant and beautiful and set in lovely grounds. The room was lovely with very high ceilings and well maintained. We had all the usual facilities including a coffee maker, fridge and toiletries in the bathroom. Our deal that included breakfast, an evening meal and a complimentary bottle of wine. The food was delicious and there was plenty of choice of hot and cold optionsThe staff were friendly and helpful.I can’t understand why some of the reviews of this hotel are so low, as we found it faultless across the board and incredibly good value. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
