We did not stay here but used a groupon deal for the spa day and cream tea for two. First of all I had messed up the dates of the groupon which the lovely spa manager Hannah sorted out for me so I didn’t lose it completely. Fantastic family break over new year, hotel itself is Victorian splendour at its best, clean throughout, food and leisure centre were great. Room was spacious and clean, plenty of room for two adults and two large kids. Had a slight issue with our dinner booking which Nicky on reception sorted with a minimum of fuss. Can’t speak highly enough of this place, Hotel, Staff, Food and value, twelve out of ten all round!Rooms: Fantastic size clean and spacious

Large hotel with plenty of parking in a great location. It’s very grand but also tired and tatty in places. The lift was frustrating to call.We treated ourselves to one of the larger suites as we knew the weather wasn’t going to be great and it was huge!It was all clean and the bed was soft and comfortable.Shower was good but the door didn’t hang straight leaving a big gap at the bottom left.
