We went to the Red Lion restaurant for a belated Mother’s Day Sunday lunch. Both the food and staff were excellent but particular credit goes to front of house who were exceptional. Will definitely return as soon as possible and would recommend to others without hesitation. Thank you!

Peak Edge Hotel and Red Lion Restaurant, Darley Road, Chesterfield, United Kingdom, S45 0LW⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐We decided to celebrate my wife's birthday at the Red Lion Restaurant and what a delightful experience it was! Right from the get-go, the staff were nothing short of wonderful, providing attentive and helpful service throughout our visit. They even went the extra mile to write a birthday card for my wife, which was a lovely touch. The starters were absolutely delicious, setting the stage for an exciting meal. However, when it came to the mains, we encountered a slight hiccup as the restaurant had run out of potatoes for mash. But, not to worry, the staff were quick to offer some tasty alternatives, ensuring our dining experience remained uninterrupted.Admittedly, we found the food a tad too salty for our liking, but overall, it was still very enjoyable. The view from the restaurant added to the charm of our evening, making it even more special. In summary, despite a few minor issues, the outstanding service and the beautiful setting of the Red Lion Restaurant made my wife's birthday celebration memorable. We wholeheartedly give it 5 stars and look forward to returning in the future.

We had a lovely 2 night start with our dog Archie Pom. We made the booking through Carmel and she was extremely helpful. I explained my current treatment with chemo and she kindly sorted out our restaurant booking - so grateful. Thank you. We had cosy evenings by the log fire in The Red Lion which was very welcoming. Our only criticism was the charge of £30 per night for our little dog. There was no bed or bowls provided for him. (Luckily we did bring our own so we were ok!) We've had these provided in the past at dog friendly hotels. But we did thoroughly enjoy our stay and would very much like to return.Rooms: Cosy, comfy, clean - overall very nice! Lovely bed.Food & drinks: Excellent food. We did pass on our praise to the chef. Absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection.

Absolutely stunning place. We have attended a wedding and were extremely delighted from start to finish.Hotel was stunning, food was superb, just few comments to make this place 5 out of 5The rooms were dusty, the housekeeping is lacking an eye for detail.Service varied, absolutely excellent from the most experienced staff to quite poor to the ones that quite possibly were still in training.Nevertheless, would love to come back for a break away and will definitely recommend.Food & drinks: Possibly the best breakfast I’ve ever had!
We got married here on the 4th of February and it was truly the greatest day of our lives. The hotel is stunning, clean, beautiful and it smells amazing. I cannot speak highly enough of every member of staff at Peak Edge. From Laura and Fran who coordinated our day on the day (and Laura who killed it from the moment we confirmed our big day), to Tim and Beth who ran the day from start to finish. You played such a huge part in the start of our lives together and we will truly never be able to thank you enough. We’ll be back every year.
