We’ve been a couple of times over the last 12 months, for both lunch and dinner menus.I’m surprised with how expensive it is when the bill comes for what you’re eating, it doesn’t warrant the price tag.The service isn’t great either, no water when requested more than once, and we found we had to go to the bar a couple of times to order drinks and rectify mistakes at the lunch menu experience. We also had to pay at the bar when we ordered the bill for some reason (we had 7 at the table and 3 children) and I waited for probably 10 minutes to pay whilst the bartender chatted with his colleague and did all he could to ignore people.I think they’re trying, but it isn’t worth the money in my opinion for what you get.

My Wife and I have been a few times and the food and service is always brilliant. We recently stayed the night in the cotton mill room which was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was amazing too!

Food is just spectacular ! The flavour profile of the tasting menu is something else. It complements , yet is progressive through out the menu. Staff were professional yet warm and approachable, which in this environment staff can be often lack a little personality . Top marks from all of us celebrating my husband 40th! Keep up the good work

Very slow service ordered drink never came, Thursday lunch quiet so don't know why we were kept waiting for the food which wasn't the best, first and last visit.

It’s the only place in the Peak District you can get amazing food and service. I can’t recommend this place anymore.

Having booked a last minute break here, we thought it would be a standard type pub b&b but boy were we wrong. Upon arrival we entered a clean welcoming pub with friendly staff and great ambiance. The rooms ( of which there were only 3) were extremely well decorated and very clean the shower was a rainfall shower with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. I must say however the coup de grace was the dinner. We opted for the 8 course tasting menu and one of us had the wine flight. From the canapés right through to the petit fours the food was excellent, well plated, the correct temperature and most of all full of flavour. The squab course and also the monkfish were particularly good. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and explained all of the dishes really well, the chef even used liquid nitrogen in the dining room to create and plate one dessert WOW. The wine flight was well curated and exceptional value. I would highly recommend The Bulls Head and would definitely be a regular if I didn’t live so far away. Thanks to Mark and the whole team for an excellent visit. I am sure your business will flourish if you keep doing what you are.

Visited as a family party of 6 at lunchtime and all had the tasting menu. This is fine dining, so everything is exquisite, with thought and attention to detail, from the canapés to the pudding. The menu will, no doubt, have changed by the time you read this, but the artichoke was impressive, the sauce under the fish v v lovely and the celeriac mash accompanying the chicken was smooth and light as a mousse. Which reminds me of the ham and eggs dish - fun and delicious. (Everything was delicious, but I felt obliged to try to say more.) The wine list looked good, but I didn't really pay it much attention as we weren't drinking much. Service was perfect, and friendly. Incredible value for money too We will go again.

Mark and his team really have a passion for food. It isn’t cheap pub food despite looking like a pub from the outside, but flavoursome and beautifully presented. Prepared with fresh local ingredients where possible we have eaten here across different seasons and not been disappointed. If you want slick fast food this isn’t for you.

My wife and I really like to go to the Bulls Head Restaurant - the food and the service are terrific. Every course is interesting - as well as carefully prepared and superbly presented; the flavours are simply delicious. Given what it takes to create each of the dishes, and the way they are presented, I think it is good value. Eating there is a great experience, far more than the sum of its parts. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff make you feel very welcome. We can't wait to go back!
