Dropped in for a drink & a sit down with my 2 doodles. Such a warm welcome from the barmaid - sorry I don't know her name. A kind young lady in her late 20's? Fellow customers who are regulars & their Labrador, welcoming too. We shall return with my partner & have a meal next time, thankyou. 100%

Three of us all had the chicken mull, delicious & piping hot. Apple crumble after, same again, knocked down with a Guinness. Next time will be trying the amazing ranges of cheese & pies etc. Great service from the girls, great wee country pub, we all enjoyed it..

It was recommended to us by the owner of the cottage we were staying in and we had a wonderful meal here! We were lucky to get a table! Had the three cheese board and my partner had the meat platter! Would recommend to anyone in the area!Parking: It's so popular that the car park fills up fast! We parked on the roadside and it was fine

This was my 1st visit to this Old Style Traditional Pub after being recommended by a friend. There's a small carpark at the side and outdoor wooden picnic style seating benches are located opposite the pub across the road on the grass verge for when it's decent enough weather to use them .Once your inside the building it's nice & cosy with various types of seating areas with a real countryside feel to the place, with a relaxing atmosphere. The menu is very reasonably priced & doesn't have the biggest variety of choices but theres a specials board and a great variety of cheese options on offer.I found the Staff on duty to very welcoming & pleasant when placing my drinks/ food order at the bar, cash or card payments are accepted. The homemade Homity Pie was sold out so The Derbyshire Oatcake was chosen instead along with The Melted Hot Pot .Both dishes were amazingly delicious & later the Honeycomb Crunch & Mint Crisp ice cream tubs were also delightful. I was soon deciding which dish I would be having next time around so I would 100% recommend a visit here.

Excellent place for a either a light lunch or a good hearty meal, and at a very reasonable price. Serving food from 12 pm till 8 pm most days. Also a good selection of ales, ciders and beers. After eating here a time or two this place is now our favourite place to eat and drink. The bonus for us is that they do not adorn the walls with flat screen TVs displaying sports etc we are not interested in when out for a drink or meal. The views from this place are not too bad either with views over the valley which can be enjoyed outside weather permitting. With the opportunity to go for walks over this area of countryside to build up a good appetite I don't think you will be disappointed.Parking: A fair amount of parking both on and off the road, but unfortunately people take up spaces to go walking.

Absolutely the best pub for miles around. Can’t fault this place! The staff are amazing, the food is fantastic and the cheese boards are the best. Can’t recommend this place enough.
