Really pleasant friendly staff, always a very good selection of real ales and an open friendly inviting pub. The main attraction is it's welcoming, reasonably priced beer and very dog friendly.
First discovered this pub via 1992's Good Beer Guide, so nice to go back. Glad to say they still look after their beer!Headed back 05.11.23. Lovely warm welcome, log burners going; nice country pub.

As an occasional visitor and, worse, a Southerner, I would sell my house and my soul to make this place my local. Great range of fantastic beer, welcoming staff and welcoming atmosphere. Pretty much the perfect pub.
