Had a weekend stay with my sister in the self catering apartment. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food is outstanding (we ate on Saturday evening and had breakfast Sunday morning). The apartment is spacious and clean. Just be aware there is noise from the pub in the apartment. It does go quiet once the pub closes.Rooms: Rooms are clean and modern.Nearby activities: Walking, Chatsworth isn’t far, Eyam a 2 mile walkWalkability: So many walks around The Bull.Food & drinks: Food is outstanding. Would absolutely recommend eating at at The Bull

Excellent Sunday lunch after a walk around Ladybower. As a family we tried all 3 roasts beef, pork & chicken, all delicious. The puddings were also fantastic.Welcoming feel and nice and warm.Service slow at times but friendly. Had to ask for a menu once sat, waited 45 mins for main and had to ask for the bill a couple of times BUT food worth the wait and equally nice not to be rushed between courses.Small car park but can park on road if full. They also sell a few baked goods if you need to grab some bread on the way home.Would definitely return.

Review of the restaurant, we didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms.Lovely old pub, with stone and timber interior decor and a roaring log fire. Met by the friendly barman and waitress as they were opening up for lunch.Fabulous food, we felt like we struck gold today. It wasn't overbusy when we entered but filled up nicely by the end of lunchtime. We both opted for the pork belly starter, which was delicious, served with pineapple chutney, great flavours. Also, we both chose the Featherblade of beef slowroast in stout and black treacle (Wow!) with roast root vegetables and served with Mustard mash. I could have dispensed with the beef (needless to say I didn't) and focused on the wonderful veg on my plate. Not a massive choice of wine by the glass, but my good lady found the Pinot noir very palatable. I had a lovely pint of moonshine pale ale.

Absolutely fantastic village pub really friendly staff the decor was immaculate with log fires really toasty and warm. But the food was on another level out of this world 5 Star who would have guessed that it's only 18 miles away definitely will be returning
