Having just moved into the area, we obviously want to try local takeaways and restaurants and as this place offers delivery, we ordered a takeaway last night. We don't often choose Chinese food based on a few previous disappointing experiences but are so glad we did! We ordered a mixture of starters and mains to share between 3 - all tasted fresh and lovely with generous portion sizes. Came across East of the Water restaurant while looking for a Chinese takeaway when we arrived at our holiday accommodation in Appledore. Five star food hygiene rating. We ordered a takeway of sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, chicken curry, singapore noodles, chicken fried rice, chips & prawn crackers. It was one of the nicest Chinese take aways we've had - & we're quite particular :-)

Been a while since I have visited and I'm informed there has been a change in ownership. For the prices charged portion sizes seemed small and it just all felt a little rushed; a sit down takeaway feeling if I can express it as such. Last actual takeaway from here was excellent, the in dining experience less so.
