Pubs in Bideford
“Lovely pub and great food staff were great and the owners couldn’t do enough for you.We went for a roast it was epic. We will definitely be going back!”
“Spent a week in Instow on holiday and came here on numerous occasions. They were very accommodating for a large group (10 of us and 2 dogs). We all had a delicious Sunday roast and have to say it was top notch. Once of the nicest roast beefs I`ve ever had. Really nice veg, decent gravy and the horseradish sauce had some real kick. The beer was very good too. 4 of us (and 1 dog) also went in on a Monday night to watch the live footy game (West Brom won !) and although it was quiet we had a good time. The staff here are really friendly and are good at their jobs. Prices are very reasonable. Would I come here again ? Yes without a doubt. Recommended”
“What a brilliant find ! Where we intended to go was closed and thank goodness or we would not of found this place. Staff were very helpful, we took our nearly 96yr old dad with us who couldn't manage the steps very well so we sat in the Pool room which was fine. The food was delicious, we all had different meals and all enjoyed them very much. Thank you to the young man (Manager I think ) who was serving us nothing was too much trouble and the young girl who brought us our drinks and meals. We will definitely call in again”
“Great food (perhaps a tad too much cheese on the pizza - it was LADEN), incredible chips, lovely people. Really nice views out the back. Well priced.”
“Excellent "proper pub". Probably the best Guinness in England. Superb service, friendly atmosphere. Can't recommend it highly enough.”
“Lovely local pub, welcoming for guests. Food was great and timely, service friendly. Would definitely go again. Low cielings around the bar area to be mindful of, space was slightly odd shaped with your backs to a lot of the venue, but really it was a lovely trip. Parking is also right outside.”
“An excellent down to earth pub, great beer, service and music nights. Well worth a visit.”
“Living in South Devon, we were able to take advantage of some glorious weather to travel to the north of the county at short notice. our stay at the Anchor was all we could have wished for, clean room, overlooking some countryside, Sensibly priced accommodation, food and drink. a pleasant patio to enjoy our drink and food in the sun. Friendly staff and ample parking.”
“Four of us (plus a dog) visiting the area and sampling local pubs . Instow Arms was the last and proved to be the best. Friendly staff, excellent food and looked after our dog wonderfully”
“The food was outstanding, easily three rosette level. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive and the place itself has a beautiful interior; somewhere I could spend an entire weekend in an attempt to drink the bar dry. I will be back.”
