Proper pub with welcoming atmosphere, good food, amazing beer garden and brilliant staff.The team behind the bar went out of their way to make this a great experience for everyone. We didn’t eat here but it seemed busy every time we visited with lots of reserved signs on the tables so probably worth booking ahead. Our favourite bit about this pub was the gardens at the rear. At first it looks like a car park with a smoke shelter but walk through the arch and you get a wonderful surprise. A lovely tiered garden with benches tucked away and a great climbing frame for the kids in the bottom tier. The view was lovely over the trees and fields, very peaceful
We booked for 4 adults and 5 children. Some things on the menu were not available but this was due to the bank holiday weekend. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food was great. Definitely recommend the fish , large pieces and the beer batter is amazing. The pub is in a small village and parking can be a bit tricky! But it’s worth the effort.
