This is my third visit now and the first time I’ve been able to take my wife. We booked ahead as it’s over an hours drive as a little treat before Christmas. The setting is excellent, an oldie worldly pub that’s been tastefully renovated and it’s clear that no expense has been spared. Up-market pub in an otherwise unremarkable Dorset village. Superbly renovated to a high standard with many interesting quirky features, not least some tasteful taxidermy and a 'games room'. Fabulous menu for both food and drink. If you find the food too pricey, there's a chip shop next door.

What an exquisite place! The food was outstanding and so was the service. Well done to the kitchen team for using herbs and foraged ingredients to add depth of flavour in each of the dish, including desserts. This is a destination for foodies and it made our special celebration very special indeed. Thank you.
