Pubs in Cullompton

“We eat fairly regularly in this area, but one place on a main road is always far too busy and another pub has become rather bad food wise and is only now good for ham egg and chips. Travelling in even further into the depths of countryside we tried for the first time the Ashill Inn and were very pleased indeed we did. Excellent food, well served by nice staff. With such a nice meal we went ‘overboard’ and treated ourselves to an eton mess, which was lovely but we did feel rather well fed after it! It won’t be long until we will be back”

“We had a most wonderful time in the Pony and trap. We were recommended to go there as it would be your proper English pub! And it turned out to be just that. Proper ales, ciders and your butters poured by a most genuine pub patron. We enjoyed it very much ?”

“What a lovely place to come to eat. We haven’t eaten here before but we certainly will be back. It was full but they manage to move us to a different table with no fuss. The staff were so friendly and helpful throughout. The meals were fantastic, food well cooked, plates were hot and they even did a smaller portion for my Mum. We couldn’t fault it in any way.”

“On my Saturday lunchtime visit the Halfway House was quiet. It is a few years since my last visit, I think the decor has changed, but it still has a nice atmosphere. I ordered my favourite pub meal, ham egg and chips. As before the meal was very good, lovely ham and well cooked chips, all nicely washed down by a nice pint of Reveller cider by Orchard Pig.”

As full of locals on Sunday, always a good sign? Whole place was clean and tidy! “Never been here before, met some friends for a drink and something to eat. Service was excellent and the food was really good and very reasonably priced would recommend”

“Stayed overnight and was given Room 2, access was outside on the right of the main door. The room was very nice, and we had a very comfortable night. We are a meal in the evening, that too was very good. The staff were friendly and efficient. We will definitely return.”
