“This was our first time to The Thorveton arms and we will definitely be back!
We booked for a Sunday roast as we had read some really good reviews.
We were greeted by a very smiley & polite young lady at the bar who got us some drinks. Whilst we waited for our drinks we were asked by Mandy if we were eating & we said we'd booked a table for 2.15, she said ok but it wouldn't be until about 2.30 as they were very busy, which wasn't a problem. We were actually seated almost straight away though & our orders were taken very soon afterwards. We didn't have to wait for our roasts & they were both delicious, one roast chicken & one beef, you could also have pork or turkey. Lots of veg, roasties, Yorkshire pudding, yummy! Followed by salted caramel brownie with vanilla ice cream! Very friendly service & good value for money. We'll be back! ?”

“We had cavary for a birthday party and had two long tables in their event space easily seating 20 people with room for lots more. They also had seating outside and in the bar!

The food and service was brilliant and the location very picturesque.

Plenty of parking with river walks.”

“I had gluten free confit of duck, root veg and cassoulet of beans; dessert creme brulee. Both were the best I have ever tasted. Service was excellent. I have mobility issues and a member of staff offered me his arm as soon as he saw I was struggling. Beautiful countryside. Brilliant visit. Thank you.”

“I had an astounding meal here. Pan friend salmon with an incredible home made salsa and sweet potato mash. Honestly one of the best pub meals I’ve had. If not the best. Nice relaxed atmosphere of locals and visitors. Friendly, attentive and welcoming staff.”

“Moved to the area a year ago and have only just managed to get around to trying the lamb inn, it had always been recommended to us. All I can say is beautiful food, amazing customer service. We were able to come in last minute and grab a take away carvery and they even warmed our plates for us, all this whilst extemely busy on a Sunday afternoon! Lovely friendly staff. Absolutely worth its weight in gold that place, felt very welcomed. Thank you for your hospitality, look forward to calling you guys our local :)”

“When I arrived it was obvious the pub had had a recent makeover and was very fresh. Went inside and booked in easily and was shown to my room. On the way through we passed through the restaurant which was twice the size of the pub and came as a big surprise with a great view over the fields. Anyway, I put my stuff in the room and went down for dinner. The menu, though not big, had quite a few things on that I was happy with so ordered the Steak and Ale pie. 20 mins later and I was indulging in the best pie I've ever had in any pub. Meal finished, I went back to the bar which was now quite lively with locals and holiday makers alike.
Slept well and down for my full English breakfast. Again very well presented and full of flavour. Win Win all round and at £72 at the height of the season, you'd be mad to think any different. Definitely recommend.”
