This place is must. Traditional elegance with a full unusual flavour menu. Each dish is finely crafted and of stunning quality. The house itself is a piece of treasured art filled with quirks and intrigue throughout. The grounds are magnificent and filled with wonder. Getting there requires transport.Pricing is adequate although for the quality and experience it is worth it.

Been recomending to all our friends since our stay. Book, you won’t be disappointed. We took our toddler and they made it incredibly easy for us. Looking forward to trying some of the others! Thanks for having us.

We had a family , celebratory,(Saturday lunch) meal for a group of 7 at The Pig(Combe), and the service was wonderful. The staff catered fully for a number of varied and at times unusual dietary requirements(GF, LF No onions etc, plus shellfish allergy) and nothing was too much trouble. The food itself was beautifully presented and delicious, and the wine list extensive. We were able to bookend our meal with time spent in one of the comfortable lounges, enjoying initially a pre- dinner drink, and latterly coffees and petit fours. We have dined here previously, and each time it has been a really enjoyable experience.

Came here for lunch as a treat. The restaurant was beautiful. Food amazing, and the staff were so attentive. We didn't stay here, so I cannot comment on the rooms. But it is definitely worth booking a meal here. And the views from the front of the house.... STUNNING.

Just had the most incredible meal at The Pig at Combe. The experience from start to finish was 10/10, the food was absolutely delicious all made from local ingredients. The service was fantastic & all the staff were so friendly, particularly Charlie & the lady that served us who were genuinely very pleasant people & were so enthusiastic. We love everything about this place, the stunning house, the location, the warm cosy atmosphere & most of all the incredible food and charming staff! This is the second time we’ve visited & the first being for our wedding anniversary a few months ago, where the food & service was equally as fantastic, they even gave us some extra treats for pudding for our anniversary, which was such a lovely touch. We look forward to joining you again soon. Thank you for such a wonderful evening. Daisy & Todd x

A tricky one to review. The hotel has wonderful design throughout, the staff are really good, the cosy fires lovely....but; everything is an extra charge, even breakfast on top of already expensive rooms. The prices are really high on everything! My wife's main course at dinner the second night was utterly bland and watery, the bed was super soft with feather pillows that many will enjoy but left me with no sleep night one and feeling beaten up night two, and when my car tyre punctured in the car park the hotel could provide no help what so ever in sourcing a local garage - instead I had to spend an hour plus googling on my phone to sort myself out. Perhaps I expected too much but we left tired and considerably poorer. Yet the hotel is beautiful, if you like soft beds and pillows you will love it, when dinner was so disappointing they were lovely and offered a replacement (all be it took late) . Almost wonderful, but ultimately didn't deliver for us, even before we saw the ridiculous bill. We will not return

Lovely leisurely Sunday lunch. Excellent food.Food & drinks: Excellent food, if overly confusing menu choices. Never sure what to choose.

Amazing place for a relaxing weekend out in the depths of the Devon. The interior design has a strong Victorian flavor, while the building has strong resonance of the earlier periods of the building. The ground sits in a beautiful valley, fronted by a village of thatched cottages.. of course the food is amazing based on the 25 mile principle. The vegetable and herb gardens are worth studying to see the ingredients for the evening meals. Breakfast is a real treat, as are the Library and lounge with warming log fires to chill out. Staff are very attentive to the guests needs.Rooms: Rooms are originally fitted in a turn of the 20th century style. Bathrooms are very well matched to the bedrooms. The mirror based smart TV hides the only modern equipment in the rooms. However the mirroring on the screen remains active which gives glare from the room lighting.

Lovely meal (except for deserts- joke!), wine, ambience and location. Yep, the puddings - treacle sponge without treacle/syrup, cheeseboard with ONE, small triangular slice of cheese ( yes, really!)
