“Third time we have been here and it was a wonderful experience again. The old pub is a special place in itself with good beer and a cosy atmosphere, but the staff are always welcoming, friendly and chatty and service is first class. We have a child with an allergy plus a dog in tow and we’re all always well looked after.
For years the team have made the best of a stupid situation with their kitchen being destroyed and their knobber of an insurance company seemingly doing whatever they can not to help. The kitchen is still a makeshift grotto in the car park, which makes the fact the food is outstanding, piping hot and quick to table just amazing. The chef is a friendly French magician who made us a perfect sirloin steak with classic, perfect pepper sauce and a confit duck. Burgers for the kids were spot on too. We love the Tower Inn and we wish them all the best in their battle to restore the kitchen - but I bet a fair few of us will miss the magic box of tricks in the car park and being able to wander over and say a proper thank you to the chef.”

“Great little old pub in fantastic location within walking distance to the best beach. Pretty and well kept gargen. Lovely food. Updated again after a recent visit; remains a 5 star pub in all aspects. Love it here. One of the best pubs I've been to. Sunday lunches are outstanding value, the food is delicious and the staff are always cheerful and helpful no matter how busy they are.”

“Gorgeous little pub and delicious food, but very expensive. £18 for a starter, etc. I appreciate costs have gone up but you can eat in very good London restaurants for less. Gorgeous spot though and very friendly service.”

“If you're interested in how a good pub was 50 years (and more) ago and still is now this is where to come. Personal family ownership. Own home feel (hosts live here). Idiosyncratic. Truly great beer. A very nice salmon sandwich, pasty, bar snack. Tip: Atmosphere clue - a huge local sing song of carols happens every Christmas Day in the car park. Tip. Treat specially brewed 'Norman's' with respect. 7%+. Tip: Accessibility is poor. Steps. Narrow doors. Outside loos. If your mobility is limited take an outside table in the summer or try The Passage (other side of Topsham by the Exe) year round.”
