I would be surprised if there's better Indian food to be found in the South-West.For so many places, the Indian-ness is like a filter put over pulled-together food. At The Spicy Mare it is a true character that runs through the whole of the dish. Ilona catered for our family wedding celebration, the most delicious menu to cater for our vegan, vegetarian and meat eating gathering - absolutely gorgeous lamb curry, alongside an equally tasty vegan curry and dahl, mango chutney, raita, kachumber, naan and poppadoms, followed by scrummy vegan sweet treats From start to finish Ilona was so enthusiastic and helpful, making it so easy for us, cooking and delivering us food that looked and tasted great, and that everyone so enjoyed....read full review
I was so pleased to find this gem of a place whilst visiting for a few days. The curries were delicious (vegan friendly) and the perfect amount for a solo traveller to take away in a box and eat immediately with a view of the sea. Served with a good sense of humour and a smile. When I visit Lynton again I know where I will be going first for my dinner. I highly recommend :)
