Bar • “What a gem, phoned ahead to ask if we could park up for the night as well as booking a meal. So friendly and helpful. Meal was superb and would highly recommend. Dog friendly too. Just as well I don’t live nearby or I’d be in there most days.”

Bar • “Excellent place for a secret drink in Tavistock. Although slightly pricey, it is open to non residents. Didn't eat there but simply had a sneaky pint and a full on 5 a day Pimms after a trot around the meadows park .Colossal painting of Sir Walter Raleigh and Francis Drake flirting over Queen Elizabeth in the foyer is worth a look.Beer garden at the back is beautiful and great spot for a Cream Tea.Parking: A little tight but just behind is a great garden.”

Bar • “As expected of a 3 star hotel , however parking is an additional charge which isn't hidden whilst booking but an unwarranted cost if your staying at the hotel. the restaurant didn't meet my expectations a little over priced and too extravagant for a 3star hotel.ive visited again and now given 4stars for the breakfast was excellent with only a downside of the times of service ending at 09:30 on weekdays,much prefer 10:00.

Bar • “THIS IS THE PLACE!!!My son and I have visited Devon every year for the last 6 years and we always stay at The Elephants Nest. The place is wonderful, charming, cozy, welcoming and such a great place to stay.Hugh and his wife Denise are so very kind and accommodating, you could not ask for better hosts. The food is to die for, Denise could be head chef in any Michelin starred kitchen. What she serves is amazing. We eat breakfast and dinner at the Elephants Nest every day, there is no point in going anywhere else.I even asked Denise to dump Hugh and come live with me in America, she told me no, I was too old for her!We'll be back again next year, God willing!Paul Thompson”
