“Stayed here for New Years Eve 2024. We chose the pub / hotel for its remote location and lack of fireworks (we have dogs and one is traumatised by loud noises) - from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. A quintessential English pub with wonderful, nicely designed and spacious rooms and very comfy beds (we had Beech and Birch). The owners and locals were very friendly and inclusive, taking care to make us feel welcome. We felt very well looked after. Breakfast was delicious (full English) and served with locally made tea and coffee (Miles, made in Porlock) and unlimited juice. We are happy that this place is only 50 mins from where we live because we will definitely be back for lunch and will find an excuse to stay again soon, I’m sure… highly recommend. “A work in progress under new owners. Great to see a cask on top of the bar, even better that it was Taylor’s Landlord. Dragging a pub up by its bootlaces is never easy but if anyone is going to manage it, these guys will.”

“Proper spoons , foods always as expected. If you're expecting a slap up meal then this place isn't for you. If you're expecting a fairly decent bit of grub, for a sensible price then go to the white ball in.”
