It was a very busy Sunday just before Christmas. We hadn't booked, and there were four of us! We chose our drinks and waited on a comfortable settee by the fire.We didn't want a roast, something tasty to keep us going, and they delivered! We had to wait a few moments for a table to empty and be cleared and cleaned. In no time at all we were sitting choosing our dishes. The pub was very busy with lots of cheery atmosphere. The landlord was attentive and charming. We had squid, it was absolutely delicious, and one of our friends had a cheese dish. Which they shared with the squid, again delicious. We have been here before in the summer, it is always the same quality and service. Definitely 5*

Thank you to all the lovely staff who made my family boxing day meal such a delight.May I say I am regular and I have always found the standard of service to be outstanding and the people that work at the pub are very friendly which makes me feel part of an extended family every time I visit

Lovely location!Food was fair but service was a let down. It felt like the staff were only warm to locals and not tourists. Long wait times on food and drinks despite arriving just after lunch time. I enjoyed the Caesar salad and would recommend it but the atmosphere towards us was uncalled for and quite strange! Definitely a bit of a shame.

Went for a wake, the buffet was excellent the staff were very helpful, it was very busy but the bar staff acknowledge us and told us they would get to us as soon as they could.

Dropped in for a drink, havent been here for a while. Absence of bar staff, party on site understandable. Throwing a reserved sign on the table we were sitting at 4.30 reservation was for 6.30. next unsubtle nudge, tray with glasses , flat ware and condiments at 4.50 whilst we are finishing our drinks. No communication, extremely rude. Needless to say, off to eat elsewhere.

Food was absolutely phenomenal, we went for something to eat fairly late as we arrived late.Everything we were served was fresh, I can’t remember the last time I had proper fresh scampi.The burger was absolutely lovely, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.Staff were lovely and the drinks were good too.Super reasonably priced, if you go make sure you dine because it’s an inn / pub but the food is certainly heads above any other pub I’ve ever been to.
I have never stayed here... I have had their food Sunday lunches fish and chips etc. I can honestly say I have never found any of the staff rude. I have been here so many time that the service I have had here has been great the food really nice. They are a little pricey but look at the location looking over the river seeing the seal in the river eating fish over winter. I've enjoyed this place alot and will definitely recommend to everyone... Their chef should be complimented and the staff and the manager of this place should be proud to have such a lovely customers who actually as well know what it's like to work behind the bar. This place deserves a 5 star rating and people who come here from far and wide should always know they get a warm welcome and all the staff treat every customer the same with kindness and respect. The best a customer can do is to treat the staff the same as they treat you the customer. A++++
