I’m gutted we don’t live closer. This was the best Sunday roast I’ve had in a long time. There was six of us & a dog. We were all happy and full of lovely staff.

Really nice pub with log fires. Very welcoming and dog friendly as well. Food was very nice and reasonably priced. If being really critical to them, then they could do with being a little bit more flexible around the menu...ie.. can't have the lamb with chips, can't have a sweetcorn as a kids side meal... As they only have enough for the steak meals that it comes with..As i say, it's being super critical, not a deal breaker and didn't spoil a lovely meal.

We ordered a delivery roast from hers last Sunday and it was amazing. Food was hot and very big portions. Six different vegetables, roast potatoes, meat and massive Yorkshire pudding. Delivered at requested time. Will definitely order again.

Nice pub good food, however unwilling to make any adjustment to the menu at all, none of the requests were outrageous? Female staff member delivered every no with a grimacy smile though!

The food we had was delicious, staff friendly, lovely warm welcoming pub. Dogs are welcome in all areas. The reason I have given three stars was issues we had with not being able to make adjustments to our food. For example one of our children is a bit of a fussy eater so we asked for a few alternatives (adjustments to the menu not new items) and they were not able to accommodate. This included asking for a extra corn on the cob which couldn’t happen due to the allocation of corn being exact to the steaks they went with. I then had to order the steak so she could have this, we did in the end get a portion of garlic bread but this was a challenge. Another example was I wanted the lamp rump but to swap the mash to chips, this was not allowed but I could swap to new potatoes. This did not make sense and also what happened to trying to meet the customers needs. Desserts were yummy but a children’s dessert menu or offering half portions as the cost adds up buying them adult size desserts. The food we ate was definitely four star but the above brought this down as it really impacted our experience.

And we must not fail to give a mention to Elwood the resident labrador who is a very well trained "meeter & greeter". Highly recommended and we will definitely return. I had been looking forward to a treat as we rarely dine out , very disappointed with the raw pastry I received, that was supposed to be the casing of my steak and ale pie . I did express this to the landlady to be told it was cooked because the thermometer was telling them it was fine , I was then told I would have to wait a very long time for something else. I think it’s very bad service to not listen to your customers complaint , also no discount was applied to the final bill or apology, I will not be returning. Don’t waste your hard earned money .

I don't usually leave reviews but we had an awful experience here today unfortunately. We came as a family of 5, including our two young children and their grandmother, for Sunday lunch having booked a table a few days in advance. When we got there at our allotted time, our table wasn't ready and we were told we would have to sit outside until our table was ready. Couldn't tell us how long it would be other than the table before us was overrunning and hadn't had their desserts yet. I could understand it happening on a busy Sunday but what was really unacceptable was was the rude manner of the staff - particularly the lady behind the bar who seemed to be in charge - she was very rude and there was no apology or acknowledgement that it could be down to trying to book too many people in (there was even a hint it was the fault of those at the table because they had chosen to have dessert). We ended up just leaving given the attitude (to which we just received a shrug from the staff) and we won't be back.
Another excellent meal. Pork belly bites. Very sumptuous. Everyone loved their choices and the usual warm welcome and service from Clare.

lovely food but can you warrant 7.50 for a pint of birra morretti we not in London no wonder people can't afford to go out and 6.95 for Guinness crazy drink prices shame really as food so good

We visited here on our way home from a day trip. The lady who served us was very friendly. The service was fast and we sat outside in their lovely garden. The sausage and onion sandwich was delicious .

Being very generous giving 2 stars as the food was some of worst quality we’ve had out. Had high hopes from other reviews but was really disappointed. We ordered 4 small dishes between 2 of us. Dirty pig- had such poor quality pulled pork (worst I’ve seen) almost pasty consistency, tasted unpleasant. Pork belly bits, unpleasant sauce to salty and sweet. Pork was dry and 50% was solid fat and rind so poor quality, not really edible. Halloumi Fries were so overdone dry and rubbery. It was hard to get through this meal, each course was a big disappointment. The next morning we both felt unwell.Hopefully they will improve on the overall quality and how it is cooked.
