Went with a couple of friends for an afternoon tea and the food was delicious.I dont think I've had such tasty sandwiches and the scones with clotted cream and jam were amazing. The staff were very friendly and attentive and I dont think my tea cup or champagne glass were empty at any point during our lunch.I would highly reccomend The Lord Bute, it looks beautiful inside and out and the food was amazing!

Thank you to Carol and Christopher for their incredibly kind hospitality when I had car troubles on Friday night. Couldn't have been nicer.

Recently changed ownership but the retained serving staff maintain the ambiance of the restaurant. The standard of the food was delicious, so no change in that respect. A very good lunch.

Absolutely brilliant restaurant! Food was perfection, service was brilliant and the restaurant is thriving under new management. Would 100% recommend this restaurant. Is situated in a beautiful area and I had an amazing time.

The wedding was so well organised. The flowers were beautiful, the food was fantastic, the breakfasts really a cut above any I have ever had. The staff were pleasant, attentive and helpful at all times, making the stay wonderful. Very comfortable beds, thoughtful touches like bottled spring water and hot chocolate drinks. Can't fault it.Walkability: A short walk to the beach, or 110 steps, and 7 minutes walk from Highcliffe Castle, which was a superb wedding venue.Noteworthy details: 7 minte walk from the wedding venue.

Beautiful hotel and the staff are lovely. The breakfast was spot on. My only gripe, is when I booked I asked if there was a lift as I cannot use stairs. I was told no but booked a downstairs room. The thing they failed to mention is there are steps everywhere and being a wheelchair user, it was impossible. My fault in future I will ask. Such a shame we could only stay the one night due to this. I have emailed the hotel and they say they are going to mention it on their website.

Suprise Anniversary lunch.Lovely lunch! Not too busy.Afternoon teas were popular!Food on 3 course set menu was delicious with lots of choices.Good venue for celebrations with family and friends or informal gatherings.Smart casual dress code is sufficient for lunchtimes at this venue.

In October 2022, we stayed in what I believe was part of a converted gatehouse in a 5* accommodation in the hotel grounds. It was also used as their honeymoon suite. We arrived expecting pure luxury. We got a very clean property locked in a timewarp and needing heaps of maintenance. The worse bit was the luxury kitchen that had white goods, a broken fridge, a temporary fridge filled with the hotels meat and a note on it saying private use only and no equipment (including fire safety kit). other than cups, saucers, champagne glasses, a fake champagne bottle and lots of helium and balloons for blowing up. To top it up the bed hadn’t been made up and only had a sheet with a mark in the middle on it. We’d booked through Sykes who were absolutely useless. The hotel receptionist tried to resolve things although appeared stunned and what had been requested appeared to get lost when a second receptionist appeared. The hotel sent someone down the pound shop? To get our luxury kitchen equipment. Two of each if we were lucky and only the basics. We stayed only as we found bedding in a cupboard and the garden was fully secure although we left a day early. No compensation from Sykes as owner said no and they advised going to court. I’ve since found out that the property has no AA self catering accreditation.

One of our favourite restaurants which we have visited over many years. Great food, very friendly and efficient staff, and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Just had a wonderful event to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. Our family stayed in the Hotel for the weekend and enjoyed every minute. We then had friends join us for the evening. Everything was perfect, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, all the food was delicious and everybody had a great time.

My husband and I had a lovely two night stay here while visiting a relative nearby. We were in room 106 which was a large room with a good bathroom. It had air conditioning which at present was excellent. We had trouble with the wifi but once the booster had been reset all was well. Breakfast was excellent - served at the table and beautifully cooked. Sadly the restaurant wasn't open for evening meals while we were there but we would think the food would be good there too. We'll definitely be returning. Thank you.
