Amazing pies, the best we’ve ever had, great service. Quirky place, lovely staff. Only downside is the lack of parking but that’s not so much of a problem in the evening.

I stumbled across this place a few years ago, as I was in town to watch a football game and we needed somewhere to eat around lunchtime. I had a steak and ale pie with chips and there was something about the pastry in particular that made it memorable. The pies are made from scratch and take around 25-30 minutes but it is worth that little extra wait and if you're really lucky, they'll being out some popcorn for you while you wait. I loved it so much I remembered the name and knew I would come back eventually. Post-lockdowns, I introduced my girlfriend to this place and was so happy to see that it was just as good as I remembered. Now, we happily make the 110 mile round trip from Exeter a couple of times a year for special occasions such as birthdays, or if ever we happen to be in the area we stop here. I am baffled as to why the place is not rammed every night but we don't often come at weekends or lunchtimes so it could be busier then. This latest visit, I had the Chicken New Yorker pie with hash brown pieces. It was incredible. The pies are so good I've never felt brave enough to switch to a burger... The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. We are looked after every time and even had a great chat about the owner's vintage toy collection (there are occasionally boxes of unusual or rare toys stacked up around the corner). We will keep coming here as often as we can for the delicious pies.

The Georgie Porgie Pie & Burger Co is an unusual and entertaining dining experience. The pies and drinks were fine. The service was helpful and informative. There was a nice friendly atmosphere to the place. Recommended.

Once you get past the point of thinking you’ve made a huge mistake (as the outside is a little shabby) - you enter a world where pies really are pies!! Well worth the wait for an amazingly delicious hand made pie - filled to the brim with delicious meat and gravy. Lovely fresh veg to accompany. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

Absolutely superb food. Not hyperbole to say that it's the best pie I've ever eaten.I had the steak and stilton. The steak was beautifully tender with the perfect amount of stilton. My partner had the turkey, leek and bacon and was similarly impressed. Definitely recommend!

From the outside Georgie Porgies looks very tatty but look past that and you get a fabulous meal. The pies are huge and we’ll,worth the wait, good selection on the menu including burgers. Staff are very friendly and helpful and service is good. Only gave it a 4 as there isn’t a huge choice for drink and we weren’t asked if we wanted anymore drinks after our initial one. Otherwise a great evening out, Thankyou

Been meaning to try Georgie Porgie for a couple of years now so this year we went for my birthday with the family. We booked table in advance. When we got there we were shown straight to our table, and made very welcome. The owner explained how the menu worked and that the food is all cooked fresh etc: We all ordered burgers ranging from Cajun chicken through to the golden cap. All were cooked to perfection. Chips, coleslaw etc: also all fantastic. All in all a fantastic birthday meal and will definitely go back soon.

We aren't locals and we thought we'd give this place a try due to fairly positive reviews. I'm glad we did! The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the pies.... BEST IVE HAD AND IVE HAD ALOT!
Really excellent meal and great service. We had the pie and burger combo. Burger handmade patty and delicious. Pie also handmade and packed full of filling and sauce. Couldn't fault it. Kids had a mini pie, which was big and we were able to order any filling from the main menu, and burger which were equally as tasty as the adults food. Best pie I've had when eating out. First place I would go back to if visiting again. Well priced and quality food.

It’s a little way out of the centre, approximately a 10-15 minute walk. It’s a family run business and everything is cooked to order so expect a wait. There is a bar, but choice of drinks were limited. We had pre-ordered before we arrived as there were 34 of us and they coped extremely well and served table by table. There was a slight confusion with my meal, but it was sorted with no problem. Most people ordered the pies (lots of different options) and there were also burgers and chicken ordered. Everyone said it was the best pies they had ever tasted. The food also came out of the kitchen hot, a rarity these days. I would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic find! A very very nice pie - from a HUGE selection, with real veg and perfect chips. Visited on a Friday night - nicely busy,but not ramned - the staff could not have been more helpful. Did not have time for a burger as well, but others did and they looked exceptional as well.

Went to visit once before but was put off by the exterior, this time, after reading the reviews we went in and we are glad we did. Food was super, pies are excellent and great value for money. It’s rough around the edges but that is part of its charm. Don’t be put off by the exterior.

Superb pie. A must visit in Dorchester IMO. Really tasty, light, crispy but still moist pastry encasing high quality, packed in fillings in a range of great flavours. Pies are then covered in sauce and served with seasonal veg and a range of potatoes. Well priced too. Ignore the slightly scruffy exterior, staff are great and service is good.
