I stumbled across this place a few years ago, as I was in town to watch a football game and we needed somewhere to eat around lunchtime. I had a steak and ale pie with chips and there was something about the pastry in particular that made it memorable. The pies are made from scratch and take around 25-30 minutes but it is worth that little extra wait and if you're really lucky, they'll being out some popcorn for you while you wait. The Georgie Porgie Pie & Burger Co is an unusual and entertaining dining experience. The pies and drinks were fine. The service was helpful and informative. There was a nice friendly atmosphere to the place. Recommended.
Once you get past the point of thinking you’ve made a huge mistake (as the outside is a little shabby) - you enter a world where pies really are pies!! Well worth the wait for an amazingly delicious hand made pie - filled to the brim with delicious meat and gravy. Lovely fresh veg to accompany. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
