Visited recently with my partner, we had the perfect cosy night away. Such a lovely atmosphere in the pub and the staff were all so friendly going above and aboard for us. The rooms were lovely. The manager Fran went out of her way to make us feel welcome too. The food was definitely worth what you pay, sooo good. Thanks Fran and team!

Visited before for drinks and food but never stayed until now. Due to unforeseen circumstances we spent 4 nights here with our dog. The staff are fantastic!! Extremely friendly and accommodating. Fantastic customer service. Room was very comfortable and little touches were much appreciated. Poppy Dog was treated like a celebrity and loved her breakfast sausage. All staff gave her cuddles. Food is excellent. Thank you Fran and Team. 5 star service. We will definitely come and stay again. Could not have been looked after better!! Shellie, Darren & Poppy Dog xxxx

Recently stayed overnight, and dined in too. Nice and warm bar & eating area, well decorated and good service speed. Breakfast was also included, which was much appreciated. The room was a bit 'worn' with a few chips and thin curtains, and an unusual shortage of plug sockets (lots blocked off, and I had to unplug the TV to stick in my phone charger as the bedside lamp was in the other socket).Very well stocked tea/coffee set, though, along with not one but two radiators, and the car park is plenty big enough - overall a good experience.Nearby activities: Very close by to Cranborne Chase National Landscape - amazing views, even if you're only passing through.

A week ago I stayed at The Hornton Inn. After arriving for business and going to change in my room, I stayed in Room 5 and it was freezing cold, I asked a staff member if this could be looked at. It had two radiators neither on, a tiny electric radiator by the bed. (A red flag!) I left to have my meeting, came back and the room was still the same. The bedding was verging on damp, the walls very cold, neither radiator on.I returned to the bar to ask what could be done, as nothing had changed, the staff member text the manager, I suggested calling as it would be quicker, the manager claimed the central heating had been turned on but none of the radiators in the hall way or my room were on and cold. After looking in three rooms with a staff member I receive a second tiny electric radiator. I had both on next to my bed that night and slept fully clothed with three tops on. It was shockingly bad and could not wait to leave in the morning! I have stayed at other nearby places that were cheaper and far better! It appeared at breakfast I wasn’t the only guest who complained about the cold. Whilst the breakfast was decent, it is beyond understanding in an age of reviews and how easy it is to damage an establishments reputation that staff, managers and owners would not resolve and make sure guests are happy. I gave my view when leaving but received a very weak apology.I could talk about Expedia’s awful virtual customer service when wanting to complain but that is a whole other very disappointing experience! In the end Expedia emailed me to say they had tried contacting The Horton Inn on a few occasions to speak with the owner regarding my stay with no response. Says it all from owner, management and staff on bad customer service!

We stopped for a meal on the way back home from Salisbury, the food and service were great, thanks. I did find the dining room noisy, it's a silly thing really but as there is no carpet sound reverberates so it's difficult to chat quietly without all diners hearing! The toilet could definitely do with a 'face lift".Food & drinks: Fine.

Friendly pub and restaurant. Went on a Sunday, the menu wasn't extensive but was fine. Not the easiest place to walk to or from as the paths in the area all end on the road a little way away from here, though we managed it. Massive car park here though if you are driving.

Service was very friendly, nothing was to much for the ladies to help with . Was bit of a wait on the meal , but we had big table, alot of us and it was busy day. Once got the food it was very tasty , burgers all around , couple of roasts . Kids enjoyed ordering their own food . Nice coffees and desserts to polish it off . Would go for food there either family again. Ohh and we had 4 dogs around our table , very dog friendly too . Very nice pub .

We had not been to the Horton Inn for some time, so thought we should return. Glad we did. Excellent service and food as well as good beer on offer. If we were to nit- pick, then the lighting was a bit bright for our liking giving the restaurant area a sort of "cafe" feel. Otherwise, all good, and already planning a return.

Didn't stay in rooms so can't give score. Food wasn't really available as they yet again had a problem with kitchen/gas off. This had happened before when we arranged to meet a friend there for a meal. Otherwise very friendly atmosphere, drinks good.
