Arrived without a reservation on a Thursday evening, we had been to an event an was stopping on the way to our hotel. The lady at the bar fitted us in before a later reservation an gave us an hour an half which we gladly accepted. The pub was lovely, old setting but nice and warm and welcoming even to a family of 7 not from the area. They took our orders shortly after sitting us, and the drinks came quickly. We phoned ahead to book here as it was dog friendly ( I find it's always better to call ahead and check it's ok ) so glad we did , what a beautiful place , black pudding starters were superb and the roast dinners were magnificent, would recommend you bring a good appetite as the portions are very generous, staff were friendly and welcoming

Called for lunch today. Restaurant was very busy but we were served a super delicious lunch very promptly. Haddock and home made chips were piping hot and super fresh. Banoffi Pie and Apple Pie for our desserts rounded off our meal. Great value and our little dog Lyndy (photo attached) sends woofy thanks for her scrumptious treat. ?? Would highly recommend!
