Brilliant, characterful old pub tucked away near Brighton Station. Card only payment. This pub offers a vast array of unique cask and keg ales. Very knowledgeable staff correctly identified an absolutely delicious IPA for me of the right ABV and taste. Go here if you likes your ales.
Great little legend. I don't live in Brighton but have been an occasional drinker here for many years. Since my last visit, it's had a really good clean with refurbished bar and tables and new taps by the looks of things. The main draw is of course an excellent selection of some really special beers. Well worth seeking out as if you're a hop head, and that's appropriate as it was apparently the birthplace of Dark Star Hophead.

Best beer selection in Brighton, overwhelming amount of choice. Nice, cosy atmosphere & the food is also very good.One negative is that the seating is very uncomfortable, like sitting in a church pew which has put us off from going here more frequently. Cushions would definitely help
