We were spending Christmas and New Year in Hastings and so booked Christmas Day lunch at the Stag Inn on the basis of good reports. At 110 GBP plus wine it was expensive to start with. The food and atmosphere were very good with the landlady, Nicola, being very attentive. What a wonderful find….from the moment I made the reservation a great experience. Lovely log fire and a friendly welcome…. Great selection of food and wines . Everything we ate was wonderfully prepared, presented and delicious. ????? Will be back

Loved the October menu, unusual combinations that really work- tasted so good. Hooked on the black treacle bread! Beautifully presented House wine very goid Service excellent Atmosphere lovely and cosy Highly recommend although on the pricier side for small portions which gives plenty of room for their amazing puddings
