I loved this pub, beautiful old building and aesthetic inside, the staff were really friendly, beer selection was great, as was the food, with added bonus of complete vegan/veggie section. Overall great atmosphere and will be back!

Staff were not welcoming on arrival, I had not been before and staff member assumed I knew where I was sitting, was also not told had to order and pay at the bar, tables are so crammed together, food was average at best, would definitely not go again, definitely not wheel chair friendly or anyone with s pushchair as there are lots of steps.

Great pub, have been coming here for years and will continue to. Only thing that's a bit disappointing is that (as far as I can tell) they've taken away all of the Jack and the Green photos that were up on the wall, and replaced it with a no vaping poster, which has removed some of the character unfortunately.

The place is lovely and the food is good too usually, but I had a nut roast that wasn't very nice, unfortunately. It was a sloppy mess of stuff and didn't have a nice taste. So I just ate the veg and Yorkshire pud that was with it. I wouldn't recommend it.The garlic bread was lovely and the chips are too.So I would not have the unroasted, nut roast again. And have something else instead.Vegetarian options: The nut roast isn't roasted, it's a sloppy mess without much taste. Unfortunately. The veg and the Yorkshire pud that comes with it is normal and so that part of the meal was OK.

Fantastic old pub with a great atmosphere. The Guinness and ale were spot on. The food was clearly not standard out-of-the-freezer fayre some pubs serve. All at a very reasonable price. The vegan options were plentiful and varied, not that I'd personally choose them. The staff were welcoming and helpful to a tee. To the point where, on our way out, a member came around from the bar to assist me with the door as I shepherded my 2 large dogs outside. When I told him it wasn't necessary, he explained that I had my hands full with the dogs. Can't rate the experience highly enough, or thank the staff enough, they clearly deserve a pay rise; kitchen and bar.I will be visiting again, when next I eat out in hastings. The only downsides I could find were; the pool table looked like it'd seen more drinks than the tables and wheelchair access seemed like it would be an issue (whichever way you approach the pub involves standard old-town steps), however it wouldn't surprise me if they had measures in place and would gladly offer assistance.

Went in as they're dog friendly and they were fantastic. Staff were so nice, had the lamb shank roast and it was superb. Definitely go back next time in Hastings.
