Walking along George St, we were drawn in by the amazing olde worlde charm of Ye Olde Pumphouse which was as quaint and interesting on the inside as it is on the outside. Much bigger than it appears from the street, there was plenty of space inside for our family of four and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Absolutely lovely place.Stopped here on a Daytrip / Beano.Wonderful massive large choice Buffet.Excellent Ales, (recommend Whitstable Bay Pale Ale).Very friendly helpful staff.Grand atmosphere.

Stumbled upon this pub by chance and are glad we popped in; it's a beautiful, old pub steeped in history with a charming atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was delicious too; with generous portions & reasonably priced. Can highly recommend a visit here.
