AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! I would give them 0 stars if I could!!! A massive health risk!! BLACK HAIR amongst the food in my mouth followed by raw chicken…I'm writing this review with a heavy heart after what was supposed to be a joyous celebration of my wife's birthday at Mosaic Turkish Restaurant Braintree turned into an evening we'd rather forget. It pains me to share this, but I believe it's necessary to convey our experience so others are aware. This evening 28/03/2025 at 5pm when we arrived at the restaurant, it was a quiet evening with only a couple of other diners, our night took a turn for the worse with our main course. Imagine my shock when, while enjoying my mixed Shish, I discovered a long, jet black hair in my mouth. Given that my wife, daughter, and I are all blonde, it was clear this was not from us. We immediately brought this to our waiter's attention, expecting at least an apology, but received none. Instead, he offered to remake the dish. When the new dish arrived, my hopes of salvaging the evening were quickly dashed. Cutting into the chicken, I ate half the cube, the texture didn’t taste right. I swallowed it and when I looked at the other half that I had cut, I was met with a piece that was not just undercooked but cold and raw in the middle. I touched it with my finger and it was coldIn the middle and hot on the outside. Despite showing our server, again, there was no word of apology, only a quick removal of the plate. What's more, when the bill came, we were charged for the children's meal and drinks, adding insult to injury. Leaving the restaurant, not a single staff member offered an apology or even a goodbye - a silence that spoke volumes. The negligence we encountered, particularly with the food safety issue, has left us deeply upset. The lack of basic customer care and apology has made it clear to us that we will NEVER return. This was not just about a meal; it was about how little we felt valued as customers and the potential health risks we were exposed to. It's a shame, and I hope by sharing our story, others will be spared this experience.

Very slow and poor service, our waiter offered us bread to keep us going as our starters were taking so long to prepare (both cold dishes). Waited a further 30 mins for our main course to be served. The Lamb was so tough that it wouldn’t even cut. Commented to the waiter who argued with me about both the quality of the dish and the time to serve us. The Manager then told me that I was wrong on both counts, rather aggressively. We had decided to give Mosaic another try after a fairly poor previous experience. If anything the restaurant has lowered its own expectations on quality. We will not be returning.

We visited on a Friday evening at 7:30pm. We had reserved a table for four people a couple of weeks before. The restaurant is very large and was about half full when we arrived and was definitely getting busier as we left. The service we received from Mehmet was brilliant. We tried a Turkish Yakut red wine which was lovely and very good value at £23.50. To start we shared Tzatziki (Cacik) and the mixed hot meze which contained spicy Turkish sausage, halloumi, falafel with hummus, calamari and feta cheese wrapped in filo pastry. Which was delicious and everyone loved it. The swordfish was very good. The mixed kebab and Adana kebab were well cooked. The vegetarian saute was a little oily. Chips were very good. All washed down with a cocktail. Overall a very good experience and we will be returning.

Very popular restaurant in town centre. We had mixed experiences with the food. My mixed grill was good, the kids loved their chicken shish but my mother in law had moussaka which was pretty average hence giving 4 stars not 5

Better for Lunch, evening service not as great compared to a great lunch set.

This restaurant has a really nice deco, it's inviting. You feel welcome. The layout is great as you don't have to sit too close to other customers. The atmosphere is good because it is not too noisy and you can easily keep a conversation, sadly, the most important thing let the restaurant down. The food:(. The pasta was well over cooked, almost soggy. I couldn't finish it. The fish my companion had was overcooked, and for then, dried inside. My mistake was not to order Turkish food. I would go back there, back again, to see if I got a better experience and value for money.Vegetarian options: As well as vegetarian menus, there are gluten-free options too and that is a bonus.
