I always liked the Hare at Roxwell - a big Essex country pub with great food. However, this was the first time I had been back since COVID and was testing it out under its new ownership and with a wheelchair using guest. I am pleased to report that the Hare is as good as it ever was, perhaps better, as the service was outstanding with really helpful and attentive waiting staff, the food was brilliant and the atmosphere so relaxing. We had a fantastic impromptu lunch at The Hare. Had never been before but was looking for somewhere decent near Hylands Park and found The Hare - will definitely come back. Food (esp the steak pie) was delicious. Lisa and another waitress were clearly busy but you couldn’t tell that from the service we received which was fantastic.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat after last minute Christmas shopping. Faultless from start to finish. Tia our waitress gave outstanding service and the scampi dish was delicious, followed by a divine chocolate brownie! Couldn’t fault The Hare and we definitely be returning.
