Tonight was a first time visit to Istanbul on London Road Westcliff. I must admit I was unsure of my parents choice and my expectations were low. However tonight's experience was beyond excellent. Our waiter apologetically explained a large party was due in an hour and although we were welcome to sit downstairs we would need to finish before the party arrived or sit upstairs where we could take as long as we wanted but it was colder upstairs. Would be 5 but annoyed that the meal for 2 we like has shot up by £5. Other than that, this is a really tasty meal and I'd recommend, but due to the drsstic price hike, it's probably the last order from me.

I can't understand the negative reviews. We were treated to very attentive service and the dishes were superb. Meat was cooked to perfection and so tasty. Catered well to knowledgeable palates and also one vegetarian in the group. I would highly recommend this place. Even if prices have gone up, I would be very happy to support such a great restaurant. I felt we had huge value for money considering the quality of the food and the friendly service.
