The place is dog friendly. It has a beautiful terrace and in summer it might be great. It’s really big and the staff is very nice and friendly.Highly recommended. The Fountain Burger is a must have. I am not a burger person but it’s definitely the best.

We had the best burger in a long time. The service was kind and attentive, my dogs were welcomed and provided with water. Great atmosphere, music right volume and good selection.

We were on holiday and visited the pub on the basis of their excellent reviews. We were not disappointed! We both had the steak and ale pie which was the best we have ever tasted, and I have sampled many a steak and ale pie! It was piping hot and the chunky chips were scrummy too. We both had sticky toffee pudding which was delicious. The drinks were very reasonably priced. It was a shame we weren't there to try their Sunday roast. The staff were very friendly and attentive, a credit to the pub. One of the locals had a gorgeous well behaved dog who loved all the attention. Can't recommend this pub enough!

Loved our visit here....wouldn't have found it if we hadn't seen a notice. It was slightly like going back to the 80s, but that's in a good way. Homely, relaxing, and great food with service. Definitely go back.

This is a really good friendly pub. Great Ales and excellent food. The Fountain burger was very tasty, as we're the Chilli beef nachos on the specials board. Would recommend very

Located on Westgate street, an interesting mixture of old and new and refurbished. Great place to shop.

We eat here quite often, it’s clearly a popular pub, the main menu is pretty basic and there is a Specials Board. Disappointing that the bar lady would not agree to, or ask the kitchen if they would change Chunky Chips to French Fries for us, both are on the menu and some dishes even state “choice of potatoes”. Would it really be too much trouble to make that change? Obviously Yes it would. That’s why I’ve given 3 stars for the service. Returned March 2024, medium glass of red wine £9 ?

Great food as always and staff warm and welcoming just like the pub itself

Went for lunch yesterday. Had sandwiches and they were really nice and incredibly generous with fries and side salad. The filling was almost too much it was great!

After googling to find the best Sunday roast in Gloucester, this pub came up. We managed to get a walk in spot and I had roast beef and companion roast pork. I had high expectations but the beef and pork was so dry and overcooked I couldn’t cut it, roasties were bland and tasted like frozen ones from the shop and Yorkshire puddings burnt. The service was prompt and fantastic and atmosphere was great in this historical building. I tend to base how good a roast dinner is based on the potatoes, and there was just nothing that got me excited.
