Terrible welcome, rubbish service, poor food, way overpriced. The only good thing was the room was clean.. The rooms have paper thin walls, you can literally hear everything being said and done in the room next door. Old fashioned food, poorly done, breakfast £15 for rubbish. Parking is OK, but if I was you I would not park here, keep going to the next hotel, must be better than this.

Fantastic food, good portions affordable prices.Great little pub, good selection of quality wines and real ales. Dog friendly, my two were made very welcome and they even keep treats behind the bar. Easily accessible for people with poor mobility.

Excellent bar, restaurant & hotel. Great friendly staff and the food is amazing. Rooms are in an annex opposite the bar which is great as you don’t hear any bar noise. Plenty of parking available. Had a large twin room which was very spacious indeed

Just returned from a weeks stay here, great rooms immaculately clean & fresh. Nicholas, Amanda and their team made us and our 2 dogs most welcome from the onset, as did the locals?. If anyone is looking for accommodation in the area we would highly recommend this place, nothing is too much trouble for them. The menu in the pub is outstanding, from breakfast through to evening meals. The home made pies, made by "the pie fairy" are exceptional, that good we brought some home with us. Thankyou for helping make our holiday so enjoyable, we shall definitely visit again. Regards Paul, sue, Henry & george. ??

I live reasonably close... and decided to try their breakfast... I had a full English with coffee and juice... and I can't fault it... quality ingredients clearly grilled and not fried unless you what a fried egg... I saw the price and thought a bit expensive but as soon as I got my breakfast it was clear you got what you paid for... the best breakfast by far in Lydney and surrounding area... will be going back... highly recommended

We booked day before which sounded promising, arrived the owners said drinking or eating? I said both he said go down there to one of slaves!! There was nothing on menu on calvery as my sister wanted soup. So didn't get. Sunday lunch was just OK. But we sat for over 15mins for waitress to come but we had to go find as for desert menu which 2 came. I went to the the loo still no waitress to take order. They were not in restaurant at all other people where looking for them. So just asked for bill which was OK for 3 child portions and adult dinner. Need to improve on waitress service in restaurant a nice place too

The room was not cleaned to a good standard. Dirty cups were left after the cleaners had been and teabags etc were not replenished. Also had to ask for towels.

Went for a walk one eve and popped in for a drink, ended up having a meal which was very nice indeed. Pleasant people, lovely pub. Will definitely be retuning.

This is a lovely spot in a lovely village. The rooms are clean and well cared for, the beds are comfortable. The continental breakfast is a little basic however the staff were lovely and it was a welcoming place to stay. I would return.

We were visiting the area from London and came here for breakfast with my young family of 5, had the full English and veggie option. Really tasty and would visit again, really friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely Inn, the food, especially the pies ? were really greatThe staff were very nice and talked about the town and was proud of the InnThe only issue we had was that the rooms are very dated and you can hear your guest next room as the walls are very thin and the small TV are not brilliant ?But this would not stop me booking againRooms: Very dated shower is old and moldyNearby activities: Lots of walking ?‍♂️ ? bikingWalkability: Walk in the woodsFood & drinks: Great small bar great food
